Return Policy
Estate Millwork builds every shutter, door, cabinet door, drawer front, and moulding to your exact specifications. Because each piece is made to order, our return policy is different from what you'd find at a retailer that sells stock product. Read this page before approving your quote so there are no surprises.
Custom Orders Are Final
All custom Estate Millwork orders — shutters, doors, cabinet doors, drawer fronts, custom-profile mouldings, and lumber cut to your specified lengths — are non-returnable and non-refundable once production has begun. Production begins when you approve your quote and we start cutting raw materials to your specifications.
This is the trade-off for getting exactly what you want, in the wood and dimensions you choose, instead of settling for whatever a retailer happens to stock. We strongly encourage you to review your quote carefully — sizes, wood species, finish, hardware — before approving it.
Defects in Materials or Workmanship
If a piece arrives with a defect in materials or workmanship, we will remake or refund the affected piece at no cost to you. Defects include splits, mis-cuts, missing components, hardware that doesn't fit, and finish flaws on items we finished.

Include clear photos of the defect, the order number, and a brief description of the issue. We will respond within one business day with next steps.
Shipping Damage
Inspect your shipment within 48 hours of delivery. If you find damage to the product or the shipping packaging:
- Take clear, well-lit photos of the damaged piece and the outer packaging (including any visible carrier labels).
- Save the original packaging — the carrier will need to inspect it.
- Email the photos to info@estatemillwork.com with your order number, or call 412.489.9148.
We will file the freight claim with the carrier and remake the damaged pieces at no cost to you. Damage reports filed after the 48-hour window may not be eligible for replacement.
Cancellations Before Production Starts
You may cancel your order in full for a refund as long as production has not started. Once raw materials have been cut to your specifications, the order is locked in and can no longer be cancelled. Call 412.489.9148 immediately if you need to cancel — the sooner we know, the better the outcome.
Stock Hardware and Accessories
Stock hardware items (hinges, knobs, pulls, latches, brackets) in their unopened original packaging may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund less a 15% restocking fee and return shipping. Contact us at info@estatemillwork.com before sending anything back so we can issue a return authorization. Items returned without authorization or in opened packaging are not eligible for refund.
Refund Processing
When a refund is approved, it is issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of our receipt of your return or our determination that a refund is owed. Credit card refunds may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
